This dataset contain information on planning applications and approvals for affordable housing. Data are available broken down by Deprivation Decile, Urban-Rural Classification, and Tenure and Planning Authority.

Data tables are provided on the following basis: 2010-2011, 2009-2010, 2008-2009, 2005-2008, 2005-2007
Dataset Quality
As government administrative data, this data can be considered relatively high quality. Although in theory it offers full coverage of all 32 local authorities in Scotland, returns were not received from all authorities in all years. For the 2010/11 return for instance, Highland was not included. Any omissions due to missing data are made clear in data tables and, to allow for comparison, these omissions are carried over into time series.
