Fire Statistics Great Britain Statistical Release

Published by DCLG in 2000

Data Type:Administrative

This dataset summarises data drawn from Fire and Rescue Service records of incidents across Great Britain. It contains information including the timing of incidents, location of fires, source of ignition, false alarms, installation and function of fire alarms, casualties and fatalities

Time

2000 - On-going (Annual)

Tables of these statistics are available from the National Archive from 2000 onwards. It seems feasible however, given that this is administrative data from the Fire and Rescue Service, earlier years could be obtained.

Dataset Quality

The incident reporting system is subject to constant update and and revision and recent releases should therefore be treated as somewhat provisional.

This is drawn from the incident reporting system data for the Fire and Rescue Service across Great Britain.

Freely accessible data tables are provided alongside published reports

Government attitudes to research use of their data appear favourable.
