These datasets contains information on the performance of planning authorities including the number of planning applications received and outcomes of both local and major developments.
Time
Data are reported on a financial year basis e.g. 2014/15 Q1. Although presently reported quarterly, this has only been the case since 2010/11. Additional bulletins are provided for 2009/10, 2007-2009 and 2004-2007. Additional annual collations are also provided for 2010-present
Dataset Quality
These statistics offer full coverage of the 32 local authorities of Scotland. As government administrative statistics, they can be considered relatively high quality.

Freely accessible data tables are provided via the Scottish Government website.
Government attitudes to research use of their data appear favourable.
