This dataset contains information on the number and aggregate value of property transactions in England and Wales, Scotland and the UK, broken down by various items

Data are updated a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Dataset Quality
Detailed quality reports are provided for all datasets. Key issues in terms of coverage include: Not all property transactions are captured in the database. Although quite complete issues of tax avoidance and evasion make it incomplete. Some records contain limited geographic information so can't be classified within the published country breakdown.
Data are taken from the HMRC Stamp Duty and Land Tax Database
Dataset Access and Use
A series of freely accessible data tables are provided via the HMRC website. Statistics for 2006-2013 are available via the National Archive.
Government attitudes to research use of their data appear favourable.
